About our decision to implement free ticketing:
A lot of you have asked why we changed something that has “always worked.”
The short answer: we outgrew it.
Our popularity has rapidly outpaced our ability to maintain a first-come first-served line. Our residential neighborhood became inundated and it was increasingly unsafe to host so many people at once. Wait times were also skyrocketing and we found that we were open well past our posted closing time.
At the same time, nothing about us is professional scale — we’re still a family-run haunted house operating out of a garage. Every actor you see is a relative or close friend working the whole show without breaks because they love doing this and want to keep Josh’s dream alive. To protect them — and our neighborhood — we had to try something new.
We know this means not everyone who wants to come this year will get to — especially some of you who have been with us since the beginning. That has been the hardest part of this decision. It’s not lost on us how lucky we are to have that problem, and we’re genuinely sorry for the disappointment it causes.
The change was made to make sure this can continue safely and sustainably.
